just keep her cool, give calpol and keep a close eye. there isnt much they can do if its viral. some nasty virus' about atm.

FLUM · 25/04/2005 16:14

Usual - keep cool, lots of fluids, calpol or something to bring temperature down.

important thing is to reduce temperature as that is what is the danger and feeds the virus.

take to doctor only if they deteriorate.

fact is they can't do much for a virus.

I used to live in one of the most dangerous cities of the world were murder was in everyday news. I don't think it's about stopping doing things, it's just about being more careful about what you do and pay more attention to what you see. Of course if you see a person acting slightly weird right in your path you don't pass by the side and say hello, you only start widening the distance slowly before getting pass by him/her. The principle is the same as other things we take for granted, such as door locks everybody have one just in case they may be needed, however, that doesn't mean that most persons who get near the door are there to get into unlawfully into the house.

Are you on the right thread, Chandra?

Chandra · 25/04/2005 16:26

Wrong thread sorry! FGS. I'm really blushing

I'll be back to this thread soon

snafu · 25/04/2005 16:27

Hehehe

Chandra · 25/04/2005 16:37

Sorry, I had just read the thread on stopping walking down the lanes and don't know what happened

Anyways, I agree with all that has been said here. Calpol, trying to lower the temperature, and that doctors can't do lots if it's a virus anyway. If she wants to sleep is fine, she will do better with some rest, it's just a matter of moving her a bit from time to time and if she stirs is fine, if she doesn't then try to wake her up just to check that the condition is not detoriorating. The key is to try to lower that temp even if it is just by leaving only in her nappiies and open the window slightly.

Calmriver i would just echo what other have said. i have a daughter who always seems to have high running temps and it is worrying, but usually is viral, gggrr. Hope she gets better soon

Chandra · 26/04/2005 02:01

I should be doing this more often then
Keep walking down country lines

Calmriver · 26/04/2005 14:52

Thanks again

She is feeling better today. Still just keeping her cool and doing the 'good old' calpol thing! She is more herself today.

There is no teething topic on mumsnet is there?

Would be great to start up a chat on that.

x
