I think each town will have a chemist open today - could you call your out of hours Dr and find out where?

risingstar · 12/04/2009 10:12

All the Tesco express shops are open I think, if this is any use? If not, worth trying friends for some?

Starbear · 12/04/2009 10:12

In every town there is a a late night, open everyday chemist. Get onto NHS Direct, it might mean get into a car! Otherwise a little medsed might help. But of course ask the professionals

Aww poor kid. Am just about to head off to the out of hours chemist for the same stuff for our DD who is mis with itchy spots. The pharmacist says after a coupld of days the itching eases. Hope you find some soon I found it really hard to track down deatails of out of hours chemist. None of the local sites including the local paper were any good and this is a big city

Starbear · 12/04/2009 10:18

That's strange. The out of hours Chemist for us is the same as it was when I was a kid 35 years ago. I agree phone some local friends they will either know which chemist or have the stuff for you.

Have found that a chemist is open 08:00-00:00 today - which I find unusual given that it is only normally open until 18:00 on a Sunday (but midnight every other night). Will it be a emergency prescription service where teh GP calls an on duty pharmacist to come in and dispense? Or will it actually be open if I turn up?

To young for medised. Have never used it so don't have any anyway.

Have found an unopened bottle of calamine lotion so will use that.I also have Antisan (antihistamine cream for bites and stings. Any recommendations?

On this point...any idea's what it could be? It is a rash which looks a bit like chickenpoxy blishers surrounded by an intense red rash almost 2" across. She has about 6-8 of them on her back (but no-where else). We were at grandparents yesterday and they have cats. Was thinking possibly flea's due to localisation to teh back. But I though fleas normally went for legs? And no-one else is affected.

Hadn't thought about calling a friend. Only one that is likely to have some is DP's friend - he holds their number and has f*%$ed off out for 3 hours leaving me with 3 children that need nitty grittying that are currently driving me up the wall with their bickering and arguing.

Hope everything worked out in the end! How is DD3?

SlightlyMadSimnelCake · 13/04/2009 23:58

Yes - found a neighbour with a bottle. Also happens to be a peadiatric nurse and in her opinion is just insect bites which is hte conclusion we came to. Still nice and ithcy for her though.
