To be honest, I haven't got a scooby but I do recall there being a post on here not too long ago by someone who did pull theirs out.

Maybe someone else can find it.

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 03/04/2009 21:33

how can you do that, it's in your womb isn't it?

Possible but not advisable.

There are potentially serious problems if it got stuck in the cervical canal.

See your practice nurse/GP/FPC.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/04/2009 21:37

yes, don't do it, google 'cervical shock' to see why not!

suwoo · 03/04/2009 21:39

Am eating my chinese or would spend longer searcing for my own thread on the subject........ have a look!

The result of that is kicking inside my belly as we speak

quickienamechangee · 03/04/2009 21:52

yikes ok I wont try it. I'm just getting really fed up with the bleeding and spaced out feeling. I fee; like i'm on heavy duty painkillers- really floaty but I cant remember anything and its confusing me somewhat. Plus this heavy bleeding causing havoc with my sex life with NM!

Do not pull it out! I had to go to A&E for them to remove it as I sucked it out into my cervical canal with my mooncup. It was as painful as labour. Obviously fate had a hand in it as the only occasion of unprotected sex we had resulted in DC3 showing as a positive test 4 weeks later.

DO NOT PULL IT OUT

quickienamechangee · 03/04/2009 22:13

hmm i've now had a browse through the old mirena threads and am now totally convinced that I want it out now. spots..weight gain...lack of sex drive arghh. not to mention bleeding like a slaughtered calf...

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 03/04/2009 22:14

why??

why....

why WHY

would you even ask that question......

suwoo · 03/04/2009 22:15

Then get thee to the Dr's.

quickienamechangee · 03/04/2009 22:22

although at the moment I have only the symptom of bleeding like the aforementioned slaughtered calf...not the sex drive/spots or weight gain as yet....its only been 4 weeks so far tho!!!

do I really want to risk those other delightful side effects? ummm non .

OP posts:
luvaduck · 03/04/2009 22:28

most people don't get them - it s a local release of hormone, very little goes into the blood stream. i think you are reading the views of a vocal minority. you are much more likely to get side effects with a pill.

most people i know with them (prof and personally) love them!

the bleeding is likely to settle down as well, it can be erratic for first few months and then a lot of women don't get any periods at all

DO NOT remove it yourself for exactly the reason emma1977 says. it can cause low bp and collapse - termed cervical shock.

cheshirekitty · 04/04/2009 10:36

Please do not pull it out. As others have sid, it can cause cervical shock.

Please go and see your doc/practice nurse about having it removed.
