A nice glass of wine at lunch time

How lovely, to be able to enjoy a relaxing and refreshing glass of wine with lunch.

Or perhaps it is two glasses, or perhaps a bottle shared with a friend for a special occasion.

Or perhaps, like me you are lonely, and you open a bottle and drink it all.

Please help.

Here for you shamefaced do you want to talk?

Galava · 31/03/2009 16:06

Thats a very sad post.

Anything we can do ?

FigmentOfYourImagination · 31/03/2009 16:07

shamefaced, there is a dependent drinkers thread on here somewhere if you need to talk to someone who has been where you are.

slightlycrumpled · 31/03/2009 16:45

Oh shamefaced that is very sad. I'm afraid I don't know a great deal about these things but I do believe that acknowledgement of the problem is the first step to getting better.

Good luck.

MIFLAW · 31/03/2009 17:24

Completely identify with you, SFS.

And also identify how easy it is to order a drink because you kid yourself you're the former when you know deep down you're the latter ...

My life used to be horrible because of drink.

I stopped drinking, I don't miss it any more or less than I miss getting beaten up at primary school, and my life is immeasurably happier now.

Let me know if that sounds interesting to you and we can talk more.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Lemme see if I can find the old thread.

Lots of support there.

Keep talking.

We're here (although I've got a cup of tea in front of me ).

MIFLAW · 31/03/2009 17:34

PS re your name - perhaps you think you're stupid in general, in which case I can't judge - but rest assured that, if you have a problem with drink, that does not make you stupid. It means you have a recognised illness which, while not fun, can be treated.

expatinscotland · 31/03/2009 17:43

Some interesting and supportive people:
here.

MIFLAW · 08/04/2009 15:54

Everyone ok?

rosbif · 16/04/2009 10:34
