it's that thick brown sticky stuff in a jar, I remember having a spoonful each morning - someone gave me a jar over the weekend, it's delicious and I'd like 'permission' to have 2 full dessertspoon helpings each morning please

Was given this as a child and I love it. may even have to buy some now as you've reminded me of that lovely taste....
Hope it is good for you.

Uriel · 30/03/2009 09:39

Bleurgh. I hated this as a kid. My mum and my brother loved it. And the dogs.

mrsblanc · 30/03/2009 09:55

just watch you dont accidentally buy the one with added castor oil - completely different taste.
I loved it as a child.
Apparently full of vit B as well as plenty of the tooth rotting stuff

MitchyInge · 30/03/2009 10:14

ah, not bothered about the teeth - that is what God invented toothbrushes for

something about it makes me feel good instantly though, is it magic?

What was the brand name for the malt extract supplement that was marketed in the late 60s/early 70s? It is killing me trying to remember it. It was delicious.

MitchyInge · 30/03/2009 10:22

I'm going to see if it will cheer me up after watching sad movie scenes on youtube, sniff

Bovric, yovric -- something like that.

MitchyInge · 30/03/2009 10:27

I really can't remember, I think the stuff we took was a bit orangey in flavour (or was it just an orange label?)

It does wonders for kangaroos and tigers, I hear.

oops you are quite right. Marmite is yeast extract - when all else fails read the instructions!

Malt extract is yummy too though - someone gave me a recipe once for arthritis that included malt extract and cider vinegar, so maybe it helps that - worth a try anyway

MitchyInge · 30/03/2009 12:20
