I know it doesnt look like spring today, but the hayfever season is just round the corner.
If you eat local honey...alot...now... will it help prevent some symptoms?
Any other old maids MN cures?

I don't know the accuracy of it but I think you are supposed to start about 6 weeks before the hayfever season.

oh, thats really interesting. I would doubt very much if it actually makes a difference though. No, i don't believe it is true. It is allergen's in pollen that cause hayfever. The bees just transfer pollen as a result of getting honey/nectar from the plant. I personally am not allergic to flower pollen, its grass pollen that does it for me - big time (dreads hayfever season) and most people are the same. Nah, tis rhubarb

I am trying it this year so I will let you know

Greetings. Ideally, you want to eat "local" honey, which means obtained from a honey manufacturer that is near or in the local area/region you live in.

The bees that live in the hives of this manufacturer will be making honey, with many different types of local pollen mixing with the honey in small amounts.

So, eating this honey, plus comb - "comb honey", or "comb cut honey" - a little every day, at least a month before the hay fever season, will in theory, help to desensitise the body/immune system against pollen, thus gradually reducing allergic reactions to it.

This doesn't work for everyone, but it DOES work for some, and has logical science behind it .

Hope this clears up a few things.
