Starflower and pmt

I have been having terrible pmt for the past few months. I didn't notice any difference after having DC1 but since having a thyroid op in the autumn I have turned into a feckin monster.

I am thinking of trying some natural remedy type thing to make life for DH and DC a bit less 'confrontational'.

Lots of people seem to swear by Starflower oil. What dose do I need to take and is it safe to take if I am trying to conceive?

Or does anyone have any better suggestions? Thanks.

It never worked for me, but fish oils do. You can get a combination of Starflower and Evening Primrose oil. I think Seven Seas do it. Holland And Barrett do a Womans Exclusive Formula, it works wonders for me, sometimes PMT is caused by a lack of minerals.

Ooh thanks for that. Do you know if the Women's Formula thing has a lot of iodine in it because I have to stear clear of excess iodine due to thyroid problems. Which is why I am wary about taking fish oils iyswim.

Sorry, went to work There's 75ug of iodine in it, 50% of t RDA so it's properly too much.

Starflower Oil is magic for me, definitely makes a HUGE difference. You could try the Starflower on its own first, and see how you get on, if you're worried about the iodine?

Boots do a good one, I can't remember the dosage but it's on the box.

Thank you WFHIT - I am definitely going to try the starflower.

Cocolepew thanks for the iodine info - as it happens I emailed Holland & Barrett cust services and they said they are discontinuing Women's Formula so you might like to stock up before it's gone.
