My C section scar can still give me jip and be uncomfortable (especially at time of month), and it's 18 months on. Does anyone else have this? What can i do to help it along. It also doesn't help that it is on the same level as a toddlers friendly head barge... .

Hmm sounds like you may have an adhesion. Mine was fecking horrific second time round and really hurt all the bloody time - turned out I had an incisional hernia though - do you have a lump or bulge there? May be worth asking the GP to take a look.

spike - I get twinges from time to time and have lots of adhesions - they only found this out when I had my second emcs though - if you plan to have any more dcs you really should mention it to your midwife and see a consultant about it. My bladder was adhesed to my uterus and it caused a bit of a 'mare with my dd.

Do you have any IBS-type symptoms - these can be an indicator as well...

I had 2 c/s and wasn't having any real pain or discomfort at that stage - just the odd twinge if I 'pull' at the scar iyswim.

Personally I think a trip to the gp would be wise.

I get pain with my scar from 7 months ago. I asked the doctor if this was normal and they said to expect pain for the next couple of years but to come back if it got bad and very stabby

That said why not have a chat to your doctors and see if you get a more sympathic response.

Thank you for your responses.

I don't have any lumps on it or other problems with it, but the scar itself is quite raised, as i don't heal that great anyway.

What happens with an adhesion - can you fix it or just endure it?

From what I have learnt adhesions are something you just have to live with.

Next time you should massage the scar apparently from the outside for better healing - no one told me that though...
