Scarlet Fever - can I carry it and pass it on without having symptoms?

There is scarlet fever at the DTs nursery. I have no symptoms and neither do they. But the little girl who has it gave me a massive kiss and cuddle on Friday and I wonder if I could be carrying it?

DP's dad is in intensive care and I would like to visit him. I can't risk taking in anything though.........

Don't know for sure but I think so.

It is essentially a strep infection and I am sure than people can carry strep throat with out being affected (and Scarlet fever is a complication of strep throat)

But from my personal experience it passes on quickly. I had the strep throat by the time DD3's rash appeared.

Googling suggests that the incubation period is typically 2-4 days which will put you in the clear - but the range is up to 7 days.

I wouldn't go to ICU with a chance of carrying streptococcus TBH. Sorry.

Ta for it. Slightly you are an oracle
