I am sick

I am so sick

I started D about 3 yesterday

I started pain about 6

I started V at about 1:30 this morning

This is the second bad bug I have had in a fortnight with random vomiting in between

What have I got & when will it go?

I have hardly worked this last 2 weeks

Katy - we have had this in our house.
So sorry for you, its awful.

It is very, very likely to be a winter vomiting bug for which there is no effective treatment other than let it run its course.

The biggest danger is dehydration, so try taking small sips of water.

D for more than 4 days needs investigation, so suggest going to GP then, who will probably ask for a poo sample to test for salmonella etc etc

If there is someone with you, get them to disinfect the loo every time you go, and its good to wash your bedclothes, dressing gown etc as they can harbour the bugs that infect others in your household.

DD threw up once Wednesday evening and once Thursday morning & has been fine since

I am immobile, sips of water trigger the pain, ice is no help

Thanks for your sympathy - I think I was in less pain last time I was post op

I was in exactly the same state as you last Sunday, in really acute pain and vomiting constantly. In the end went to out of hours doc, who gave me some anti-sickness medication and stronger painkillers. Worked really quickly. Can you get someone to take you?

I think I'd have to phone & make an appoinment

Would the walk in take me?- Nurse practitioners?

Katy - sorry to hear that you are still not well lots of hugs comming your way {{{hugs}}}

Round here you phone the out-of-hours number which is on a recorded message on the GP's phone line. Someone phones you back, and if they think you need to see someone they tell you to come down. I think your GP should have some sort of similar arrangement so that you can see a GP today.

Don't know about a walk-in clinic - can you see a doctor, or is it just nurse practitioners? I don't know if they can prescribe stuff but I may be wrong.

If you are in serious pain and can't keep anything down you should be able to see a doctor today.

Yes we have to drive to the hospital - 30 miles away

I'll see how it goes I was this bad 2 weeks ago & I made it through & 2 weeks before that I was at the Out of hours

I will survive

I just won't enjoy it - I must stop sipping water it makes it worse

Katy - flat coke or tonic water stayed down and caused me less pain when I had this a few weeks ago. It really triggers the IBS, doesn't it? Took me about 3 weeks to get right.

I might send DH out for some

I think that is part of the problem as it is so soon after the last one & the one before that
