Does anyone use a mooncup with the Coil?

I have recently had the mirena fitted and was a mooncup user prior to getting it fitted, can I still use it??? The woman at the clinic said it would be ok as long as I was really careful as she had had 2 women that week who had pulled their coil out with the mooncup . Can anyone tell me if it will be ok.

I used to (before I had it taken out to have DS) and had no problems. Tbh it never even occured to me that I might accidentally pull it out when removing the mooncup.

Excellent, so as long as I am careful it should be okay then? Thank you

Hi Frogs, thanks for answering. Can I ask a TMI question, I have had my coil for just over 2 weeks, will this be okay and is there a trick to removing the cup without yanking it and risking pulling the coil out??? Sorry

I've had a regular coil for 3 years and have used a mooncup for 1 year. No problems so far, I would have thought the chances of being able to pull it out are pretty slim.

Cool thanks, I have bit the bullet and am using the mooncup today. So we will see what happens.

I pulled my coil out with my mooncup (see my archive threads) and had to go to A&E as I had only pulled it into the cervical canal........

4 weesk later I was pregnant

I am now 16 weeks and we still haven't got over the shock. Our favourite boys name is Felix- which means 'lucky' .

So, yes you can use both- but be very careful!!!

Maybe it's to do with the length of the threads? Mine were always quite high up. And I'm tall, so maybe I have a huge fanjo...

Oh suwoo thats not so good. I will check out your threads (on mn that is not coil threads lol). Thanks for getting back to me.
