About four days ago, I started to get this, throbbing/shooting pain in my groin area. Every five seconds or so, it shoots down my leg, it feels like a stabbing pain, and its not HORRENDOUS, but its making me wince!
It doesnt seems to do it when Im moving around, just when I've stopped. But it isnt getting any better.
Couod this be anything to do with my overies? I dont know where abouts they are in my tummy.
Thanks

One sided or both?

cocolepew · 26/02/2009 10:37

If it's your groin is it not too low for your ovaries? I think of my groin as hre join of my leg to my body, IYSWIM. Is there a lump, it might be a henia.

flubdub · 26/02/2009 10:43

Just one sided, on the left.
Yes, its just like where my leg joins. Im scared now. Its a constant pain .
It started about two days after my last period, but i never get pain afterwards like this.

Have you felt for a small lump?
Have you pulled a muscle?
Have you took painkillers? Did they ease it?

flubdub · 26/02/2009 10:46

No i cant feel a lump, but havnt had a real good feel.
I dont think iv pulled a muscle, its more 'inside'. I have been taking pain killers and they do take the pain away.

It does sound like you've pulled somthing - too low down for the GU-type things.

GP?

cocolepew · 26/02/2009 10:48

It does sound like a pulled muscle, doing a groin muscle is agony.

flubdub · 26/02/2009 10:49

I dont like going to the GP, theyre always so busy, I feel like Im wasting their time! lol
Glad to hear its too low!

noddyholder · 26/02/2009 10:51

kidney stones do this

flubdub · 26/02/2009 10:53

Please dont with the kidney stones. Iv had gall stones, and i dont want any more stones!!!
Im going to leave it a couple of days and if it doesnt get better, ring the duty dr and speak to him.

Sorry but I had them and had intermittent groin pain which was v painful but bearable as they were so small.

flubdub · 26/02/2009 11:04

Oh poo
Well Im going to see how it is, maybe tomorrow, and if its easing off or not, and then ring drs.

I know they are a nightmare but the 2 stones often occur together. When I had kidney stones i also had gallbladder investigations as they often occur together but mine was referred pain not gallstones Hope you get good news

Sciatica maybe? Your sciatic nerve might be trapped or under pressure. I had it during pregnancy.

dearprudence · 26/02/2009 12:22

Why don't you call NHS direct? They could advise whether this is something you need to take the GP now, or whether you can afford to wait a few days.
