Hiring a personal trainer? (Or possibly a powerful sorcerer...)

I need to be desperately slim and fit and in marvelous shape to be a bridesmaid next year. There are 4 of us and I'm the only one to have had babies. And they were all taller and slimmer than me to begin with.

Oh dear.

So.

Would hiring a personal trainer be a good idea?

How long before the wedding should I start?

How many days a week?

What else should I know?

I have a friend who is a PT and gave me a month's worth of free weekly sessions when she first started out and needed someone to practice on. It was fab. So motivating. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to pay her, so when the free trial was over, that was that. PT's are very expensive, as you probably know, but yes, if you can afford it - deffo worth it. I'd say minimum once a week, and a good trainer will make a plan for what you should be doing the rest of the week.

Lucky you with a free trial.

Do you think 3 or 4 months would do it?

How long does it take to get fit?

I had one for about a year. Was good but I lapsed because it was such a bloody effort to squeeze the time into the diary. The trainer I had was at the local gym, and the difficulty was around timings. I used to have a session with him a week, and then go for an extra couple of sessions. It really just helps to keep you up to the mark, and keeping on designing stuff that is useful for you.

People swear by the Body Doctor, by the way.

Oh I hadn't thought about going to a gym. I hate gyms. I was thinking more about having someone to make me run around the park. Hmm. Maybe I just need a jogging buddy?

Yes but would a jogging buddy be stern with you?

Here's a link to the body doctor It's not possible for me in terms of location, but I know a large (and surprising) number of people who swear by them
