Mole changing during pregnancy.

I have a mole on the back of my neck which since before Christmas has changed to feeling scabby (can't see if it's changed shape or colour) then gone back to being smooth. It's happened about 4 times now so last week I booked an appt with the GP. However when I mentioned it to a friend she said she'd had a similar thing when she was pg (I'm 39 weeks now) and the GP said it could be hormonal.

Has anyone else had a similar thing? I think I might put off the appt until after the pregnancy (cause they're always running late and I can't be bothered!!) if they're likely to say wait and see if it stops happening.

Hope that makes sense and sorry if it's waffly! Pg making me very tired and I'm off to bed now!

I also had a mole which changed during pregnancy, my doctor's side speciality is moles, and he said to me that although it was fine and the changes were pregnancy related. He would recommend demand all of his patients to visit him with even the slightest changes to a mole.

Same here - I had a mole on my back change colour when I was pregnant and had it seen by specialist. GP was more concerned than he was, but he removed it just to be safe. It was fine. It does happen during pregnancy, but you should get it checked any way. If you leave it till after the birth, don't forget about it.

I had a mole on the side of my neck that got bigger as I got older - didn't notice it particularly changing in pg tbh, but once DS was born and starting to grab things, he liked to grap that. So I had it removed to be on the safe side. A local GP specialises in minor surgery such as mole removal so he did it for me.

It's always, always better to ask about it than to leave it, just in case.

Thanks everyone! Sounds quite common then. I don't know whether to wait til after the baby now. I can't be bothered to wait the usual half hour late, then be told 'it might just be pg'!

I swear I got a lot more moles while I was pg. Did anyone else have this? Not big ones or anything, just little freckle-like ones. Or maybe I just became more aware of them? Who knows!
