Constant round of feeling unwell, sinus, fluey....

It's really undermining my life. I get a 'cold' turns to sinusitis and/or upper respiratory infections, I get anti-bios, it goes away, I have 2 days of feeling I can go out, enjoy life and it starts again.

I have psioritic arthritis and asthma (yes, I know I should just give up on life altogether) too.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm willing to try diet/supplements/exercise/alternative therapies/voodoo today!

I feel as though life is just passing me by, I've been eating heathily, have got a Wii Fit, an allotment to plan, supposed to be doing first level of Reiki, a lovely family and all I want to do is snuggle under a blanket.

I just about get by at work and then want to sleep all the time. I'm really fed up of this and would appreciate any ideas.

Can't really help but I am much like this myself, just a constant round of generally feeling unwell.

I think mine is probably linked to PND, the last time I felt properly well was when I was on AD's after ds1. As PND has only been mild/ moderate with ds2 I've avoided ad's.

sorry not much help

Thanks, i'm wondering if it's linked to depression as i have a history. I've been using my lightbox though it's hard to get up when I feel rotten.

I've noticed a flu thread and that people seem to be taking ages to recover from the last round of viruses.

Oh well, lots of meds today for me!!

There is a lot going around that is true. When I saw my doctor a few months ago about feeling shite all the time, he asked me to keep a symptoms diary for two weeks. It helped established that the vague, on off symptoms were linked to depression rather than anything physical.

I must admit that when I had PND the first time round it took so long to reconise it as depression because all I had were physical symptoms rather than emotional ones. It's hard to believe that you can physically react so badly to emotional distress.

perhaps you should look into treating the depression if you think that is a possibility (maybe will take my own advice )

I should say that the first time round the doctors recognised the depression quite quickly it just took me a year to believe them

how i cured my sinusitus, and feeling crap all the time, and being on meds all the time.... did concurrently
1 i took lots of vitamin and mineral supplements, but, i no longer take so many.
2 joined a gum, and excercised loads. sweated buckets. even when unwell, made myself go five times a week. the key was sweating....
3 started wearing a hat. keeping the forehead covered all the time. winter or summer, is essential for me did all that and had a ninety five percent reduction in symptoms

hth

CT.. good idea re diary, will try that and won't lose my mind to the possibilty of depression. I have been feeling down, though I always do in the winter.

plt..I'll try the exercise route, though not a gym but Wii and walking.

It's just hard to motivate yourself through all the adverse symptoms.

I'm going out later so I'll pick up some vits, sfter checking the cupboard and try to be positive.

earthymama, no advice just lots of sympathy from a fellow sufferer.

i have suffered from bad psoriasis most of my life and was recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis (not long after the birth of ds2). i also seem to be constantly battling sinusitis (never ever get just a cold ). i have a toddler and a 4 month old so am extra exhausted and run down but with no time for exercise etc. interesting about the pnd/depression link. i suffered very badly after the birth of ds1 so am very much on the look out for it again...

anyway, good luck to you, i know how grim being constantly under the weather can be.

ps are you on any meds for the psoriatic arthritis?

LackaDAISYcal · 07/02/2009 19:52

I have an auto immune disorder and have been feeling badly hit with everything since the birth of my DS three and a bit months ago. I've had a cold/sinusitis since before Christmas as well as two tummy bugs (really suffering this weekend). I think I have a low grade infection hanging over from the birth and am waiting on the results of swabs coming back but in general I just feel low and tired. I also have PND so that won't be helping either

Just reading that back......shoot me now, please someone!

tiredsville · 07/02/2009 19:57

You may have chronic sinusitis, which can crop back after taking a course of antibiotics.

zonedout · 07/02/2009 20:18

hello daisy so sorry you are struggling so much too.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/02/2009 20:55

pah, nothing compared to your and the OPs psoriasis.

I think that people with autoimmune disorders are more susceptible to all the little niggles. I try and eat healthily but my condition compromises vitamin absorption.

supplements are probably a good thing though for anyone with a compromised immune system.
