I have ongoing issues, being tested for adrenal tumors and heart thingies. I am so tecnical!!
I have had a headache for 6 days now, and last 2 BP rwadings were high and so took myself off to docs out of hours last night. BP was 98/150, now i know thats high and could be because my heart isnt managing what ever speed its running at or could be because of the tumors.
The GP last night was not helpful, didnt seemed too worried and said wait till i see my consultant on 26th!

How long can BP be that high for before it starts causing damage? I have little faith in GP yesterday as he also said headaches werent anything to do with BP and i should rest and try to lower my stress

Tried to call my consultant but no answer, but major snow here so doubt many people in.

Anyone able to help, tia

Hello, i have ongoing checks for my bp which is now only just controlled with meds. From your readings it does sound quite high. I would badger your GP if you're not happy with their initial response. I think his/her response is not acceptable and its not doing an awful lot to lower your stress levels! Good luck

i hate going to see GP as he is a real PITA, but wondering if its going to cause too much trouble waiting till 26th?
still no answer at hospital

That is a bit high. I am hypertensive myself and have been for a while (on meds now when I remember to take them) but in your case, with underlying heart problems/tumours, I would go back to the GP or ask for a second opinion.

Do you have a nurse at your surgery? I often have my bp checks with nurse or sometimes with practise manager.
I have found my appointments with nurse to be less hassle and more time to talk and generally chat through lifestyle changes which can help bp.

Just to give you some reassurance, it's not dangerously high -to put it into context the current NICE guidelines recommend treatment should be initiated if it's going above 140/90, on two or more readings (taken on 2 separate occasions)
If you're having problems with your adrenal glands, then this could be causing some of your BP problems, and also some of your heart thingies (especially if you're getting a racing heart rate.) If it is this that's causing your BP problems, then it's probably best that your consultant sorts it out, as he'll more experience in this field.

Sorry did you mean 150/98 or 198/150? If the second you need to be seen in casualty.
