blood test question... any one with medical knowledge

i had some blood taken the other day and they had trouble getting any. when the first midwife ( student) tried my vein made a funny fizzing sound and just stopped. she then called in mwnumber 2 who had no luck. she said to the student midwife " at least you have heard a fizzer now" has anyone any idea what she meant by this. i am just curious

If the phlebotomist was inexperienced or the vacutainer (sample tube) seal was damaged, it makes a hissing (fizzing) sound when the vacuum is released before the tube is filled.
I remember this happening to me when I was training. It was the suction being released from the tube (air entering)before it was full. The vacuum is lost so it won't draw any more blood from the vein by pressure.
This sometimes means the sample cannot be used, depending on which test it was going for.
I am pretty sure this is all it was.
