if in deed you do?

I have an awful lot on my plate at the minute, but things were looking up and everything was really positive. anyhow.

this week DS has been v naughty which hasn't helped, but, i've been getting quite angry again with him, (not half as bad as before) but he knows the buttons to push for a reaction, & also as well i'm sat here in tears - I thought they were meant to stop that??! lol.

As I say I do have a lot on my mind atm, and could do with curling into a ball and letting everything pass me by (oh & willing the lottery so I didn't have to have any of these stresses anymore! lol)

(or is this because it's PMT week - have just started taking the pill again & am currently on my week off)

they're not supposed to emotionally anaesthetise you! it would be pretty worrying if everything did just wash over you, crying and sadness and feeling overwhelmed and angry are all part of the human experience - the main thing is that you're here, you're talking about it and getting through it.

lol. mm - oh how I wish they would anaesthetise me some times.

I know i'll be fine for the most part. DS is with his nanna/poppy at the mo so i'm going to tidy (should be either sleeping or studying as well but I know I won't go back to sleep n I can't focus on my studys)

I still have 3 weeks of these tablets (have been on them for about 8 weeks or so at the minute) should I ask for a review sooner?

mum seems to think i've taken on too much.

has the dose gone up at all during these first 8 weeks? it wouldn't hurt to see your doctor if you're worried they're not working as well or as quickly as they should - I think it can take a while to get the right amount of the right meds for each person. go easy on yourself!

no I have 20mg of floxine (the prozac) one. they were working really really well but as I say this last week they've not really at all - but then again that might be tied in with me feeling run down & DS being a little horror (back to nursery, had 2 weeks off & saw XH loads etc etc not much time with me etc)

(throwing poopy around etc - little gremlin - not listening - oh the joys of a 3 year old!)

no expert but I think that is a starting dose and is usually gradually increased until mood stabilises somewhere acceptable - hopefully someone who has been on it will know!

20mg was enough for me and worked after about 10 days. You can increase to 40mg after a couple of weeks if you need to - talk to your GP. Your other option is counselling. There is also a program on the web called 'beating the blues' which is a validated cognitive behavioural therapy tool available to NHS patients. You can find it here...

There is also a self help booklet which you can find here...
