Reading up on vaccinations

Just saw mention of the 'Vaccination Bible' in the circumsion thread.

I don't really want to start a debate (really I don't) but I just feel that I should really read more on the subject and wondered what else was out there that others could recommend.

Both DH and I have some scientific background but since having DS I feel that I am drifting along (very much in the post pregnancy haze) and only reading snatches of information and going on 'feeling' rather than anything more solid.

As a background, my DS has had the 2,3,4 month 'lot' but not the thimerosal (mercury) based ones. I was tipped off by my SIL about these but after having them done wondered what these contained. I then felt cross with myself for insisting on something I hadn't read enough about.

So, I want to make amends now so that I can have an intelligent discussion should the need arise with my GP.

Thanks.

Well done for having infanrix- yep they keep those quiet......

your best starting point is the vcaccination bible- it gives full references to studies in peer reviewed journals (bmj etc). To be honest the only way you ca make a fully informed choice is to read the original peer reviewed research. Don't rely on the drivel the dept of health produces, they appear not to actually bother reading the research.

have fun!
