just wondering if anyone else has had this...fairly frequently atm, when i go to bed at night and close my eyes i start spinning out exactly the way you do when you're throwing a whitey, except that i haven't been drunk or anything else for an entire year. should i be concerned or is this just part and parcel of new parenthood?

i have been feeling very flat and lifeless lately, perhaps my iron is low or something.

labryinthitus, I had it is vile, inner ear infection. see the doctor they can give you something to help with the virtigo.

I get like this when very very very tired.
Eat some steak and spinach tomorrow incase it's iron and try to catch up on sleep if tired. Drink extra water? See a doctor? hope it stops. It's horrible.

interesting. i thought any ear problem was always accompanied by searing pain - is it possible to have these things and not be in agony?

I suppose inner ear infection would coincide with being tired and run down so perhaps that's what I used to have too.

WowOoo · 12/01/2009 17:14

Ear infections not nec painful. Had them and just felt dizzy, sick etc but not actual pain. More strong discomfort and horribleness.

poppy34 · 12/01/2009 17:17

ear infection - spinning and feeling like all the air has been let out so to speak.and yes you can have it and just feel crap rather than in pain

NotQuiteCockney · 12/01/2009 17:18

Labyrinthitis, probably. If you stand (or sit) still and close your eyes, do you feel like you're doing somersaults? If so, yes, it's labyrinthitis. Not worth treating unless it's making you puke.

I think coffee can make it worse. Try to avoid turning your head sharply.

I get this after any head cold.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 12/01/2009 17:21

I had this postnatally too, it was worse if I suddenly went from a brightly lit room to a dark one and from very active to lying down etc.

The only way I stopped it was going to bed with a dim lamp on and sitting propped up before gradually lying down. I still have no idea what caused it for me.
