Funny Turns

DS2 will be 3 in May and for a few weeks now he has been having episodes that look like ecstatic seizures, which usually come on when he's excited. These 'turns' last for about 30 seconds, his hands go into a gripping spasm, he breathes heavily and grunts, he dribbles and if he's standing up he falls over. It's a controlled fall usually, and speaking to him will bring him out of it sooner.

Has anyone else heard of this? I'm taking him to see a GP next week, but I don't hold out much hope of finding out anything useful.

Hi, just thought I'd update everyone, because loads has happened. The epilim stopped working after a week, so they upped the dose, but his seizure rate went up and up. He's now having 30-50 seizures per day, lasting 10-40 seconds each. They've added in clobazam and will be changing the epilim for something else in a few days. They're giving the new meds 2 weeks to bring the seizure rate down and if it doesn't, they'll be admitting him to the neuro ward. Don't know how long for. Boo hoo. And we're still waiting for his MRI.
So I now play catch DS before he falls up to 50 times a day, which is especially fun whilst trying to cook.

I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks Lou. He's on a waiting list, but I've no idea how long it is.

We have Lou, and she is trying, but she can't/won't say specifically how long it is.
