part of my new year resolution is to drink more water. At present i have 2 cups of tea a day and thats it. Not good.

So, i was wondering, is sparkling water as good, or nearly as good as still? I really dont like water at the best of times but could cope with sparking a wee bit better (especially with a drop of lime)
Any thoughts?

The CO2 in sparkling water is not so good for your teeth, I believe.

Sparkling water is just as good, or diluted fruit juice, or squash or cordial. Try not to have too much caffeinated drinks, but even they are positive overall in terms of hydration (apart from very strong coffee!) And obviously you don't want to be sipping on sugary drinks all day, for your teeth's sake.

Oh I hadn't thought about the CO2 - it does make a weak acid, so not so good after all.

If I am trying to drink more water, I slice a lemon very thinly then put a few slices in a jug. Top up with boiling water and allow to cool. It is not as "tasty" as juice etc, but gives the water quite a lemony taste. Works with limes too. Or try fruit/herb teas?

Afaik, all fizzy drinks erode teeth enamel. (think that is the correct wording) so not ideal routinely.

Still water all the way. I've always been told by dentists that al fizzy drinks rot your teeth.

Sparkling v bad for your teeth - contains carbonic acid
