Have not read the whole thread so sorry if I am repeating what has already been said.

My ds3 seems to have constant ear infection for which he has been given antibiotics. However, despite trying to disguise the taste in yogurts, using a syringe or plain old forcing it down quick, he gags, chokes and throws up. Now I have given up with medicines as I can't be doing with the hassle and upset of trying to give it. We give him plenty to drink, let him have his dummy and snuggly during the day and let him sleep when he wants. Despite having once had a hole in his eardrum he seems to get over it within about 3 days, the same as if he'd had antibiotics anyway. Doing it this way and letting nature take its course seems to works for my ds.

my dd has been to a party tonight where i didn't really know the mum(dd is in reception class)and she was fine about it....better that than two weeks of whingy, snotty dd!!

i'm sure tesco or birds eye don't have any dairy in their normal brands as i've got some in the freezer(for a treat for dd and for when friends come for tea-so they can have the same)

aimsmum-
chocoalte bourbons(normally the cheaper ones)don't have any dairy in them.
rich tea fingers/circles are ok too
will look in my cupboards at 'normal stuff' my dd can have tomorrow and let you know
ps my dd is 4.6 months old too but has been dairy free since 8 weeks old, last tested by doc aged 2 and hopefully due for testing again next year but not much has improved as we occasionally give her stuff and see the reactions ourselves
be careful as dd reacted to lactose in one of her immunisations

no her problems all started when we started to wean her off expressed breast milk and onto formula, after 8 weeks of sheer hell and dd weight dropping off her she was hospitalised and eventually put on wysoy formula and within about a week changed back to my happy wee babe that she had been when on breast milk
there are quite a few everyday products that can be used as in cook in sauces,it's so hard to prepare separate meals all the time-i don't all the time we will have what dd does and if there is a meal that we really fancy and she can't have that's when she has her fishfinger treat

sorry can't remember off hand-i really need to find her red health book before next week
it was when she was about 3 years old and she was recalled(as were lots of children)for a booster to an immunisation they had already had=just happened that this batch had lactose in- it was a nightmare and i was pregnant at the time with ds.
if i don't feel that dd is 100% next week then she won't be having any jab

DS3 has got another ear infection and this time we are on antibiotics (amoxycillin).

It seems to have worked very quickly as he woke up in a good moood this morning.
