I am due to have a c section on the 15th of Jan and have heard pelple on mn talking about Arnica.
What is it and when should i take it and what strength?
I have gestational diabetes-diet controlled, so far- and hope it's safe to take.
Any help will be great.

Arnica tablets (Nelsons i think...) they worked brilliantly, healed very fast after all dcs c/s! Check with the pharmacist...

Do they sell them in places like Boots etc?

Yes Boots sell them as well as Holland and Barratt and similar shops.

Hiya, I have cut and pasted the following reply I made on another thread:

(( Arnica is an anti inflammatory agent for blood vessels, especially veins, so helps to bring out and speed healing of bruising.

Anyone taking high blood pressure medications or blood-thinning medications should tell their doctor they are planning to take it as it can increase risk of bleeding in those people. People taking medicines that affect the heart?s rhythm or function may have worse effects if they take arnica as well.

Personally, I took it every two hours throughout labour and then for two weeks afterwards. I also take it for two days before operations and for a week or two afterwards.

I would always give Ainsworths a call as they're real officionados as to dosages and appropriate homeopathy for you.

For c/section, which I am also having in Feb I think you may need to wait until it's done to start taking it, due to bleeding risks, but you can clear this up easily by calling Ainsworths and mentioning to your doctors in advance that you will be taking it.

Good luck

Thanks Lotstar.
Will have to look into this a bit more as i am as the medical world call me a 'bleeder'.
