DS2 had upset tum, no sickness that lasted for ages. ds1 was violently sick over weekend. Have kept him off school until yesterday as that was the 48 hours clear. In the night he woke up with upset tum. He is missing his party today - lots of tears. Should I keep him home tomorrow as well? When will this end dd3 also has it

Our school has a 48 hour rule with all tummy bugs. Going by that, I would keep him off tomorrow. Nobody will thank him if he does pass it on (especially so near Christmas) and if he is low, he is more likely to pick up another bug straight off too.

Just seems such an odd bug. One minute he's fine the next out of the blue he is not. Do you think I should stave him again. He is at actually fighting with his brother as I type!!! Not feeling unwell at all.

it is so hard to judge isn?t it?
My DD1 has been in and out of school over the last 3 weeks - driving me to distraction. She seems fine and almost normal appetite so send her in - only to get a phone call half way through the day to say she is doubled up and is pale/high temp etc
Does he have a cold or cold type symptoms? I know that can give them a sensitive.slightly upset tum?
I have no idea about starving him, sorry. However, I do know that in the past I have been told to steer clear of dairy products after an upset tummy as a youngish child can become mildly intolerant after a stomach bug. Perhaps just keep food fairly plain and stay clear of milk/yog/cheese or very acidic stuff like orange juice/spicy food?
If he is hungry, I would not stop him eating a little. Equally, if he has no appetite, don?t push it, just make sure he drinks plenty.
Sorry - not the best advice but I do sympathise a lot!

No cold at the moment. She says fingers crossed that he doesn't go down with one. Thanks for the sympathy. He is so upset about missing the last two days off school. It was his party today poor thing. Have given him toast just to shut him up and he seems fine. I will keep smiling and hope that I don't get it for christmas
