aw poor boys! Have a large G and T.

StealthPolarBear · 11/12/2008 22:32

ooooohh ouch
No, afaik your DP is right - I don't think they'd even bother x raying it. Could be wrong though.
NHS Direct?

TipsyFairydifferentID · 11/12/2008 22:32

No treatment i have heard of. What were you doing woman?

bran · 11/12/2008 22:34

Do they still strap toes, or do they not bother doing that anymore? When I broke my little toe as a child my Dad strapped it to the next toe which meant it didn't move around so much and was less painful. It's horrible though, you have my sympathy.

ToysAreLikeDogs · 11/12/2008 22:35

Erm well I did this on Monday at Toddlers.

I get my shoes off to get down on the floor with the babies, and I was not Paying Attention.

So sore I didn't walk to school this afternoon, and I am the Queen of Walking.

sigh

I did this exactly this time last year. And got told off on here because I swore in my thread title. I am pleased to see you have been more restrained despite your obvious agony.
Your DP is right, they might strap it up for you but it doesn't make any difference except for making it even harder to get your shoes on.
You will know for sure tomorrow because if broken you will most likely have a huge great bruise all over your foot.
And make friends with your most capacious pair of shoes. You won't be wearing any others for the next few weeks.
I feel your pain (or at least I remember it vividly which comes to the same thing.)

ToysAreLikeDogs · 11/12/2008 22:38

Noooooo

Do I have to break out my (holiday) crocs?

I have been wearing my horrid super wide trainers to accomodate the swelling.

Can't get my foot into my boots

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 11/12/2008 23:22

Well, a broken toe is about the only excuse I would accept for Crocs, but all the same I think you should stick with the trainers. I ended up in slippers over most of last Christmas which was particularly galling as I had bought a lovely pair of patent heels just a couple of weeks before.

ToysAreLikeDogs · 11/12/2008 23:26

Oh you poor thing

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 11/12/2008 23:31

I will wear them THIS Christmas though I am making a particular effort to avoid any housework in the run up to Christmas as it was tripping over the hoover that caused last year's injury. I reckon it was God's way of telling me I was doing too much cleaning.

ToysAreLikeDogs · 11/12/2008 23:33

yy cleaning is dangerous

OMG! just noticed this.
you need your birkies back!
i'll pop them in the post immediately.

bran · 11/12/2008 23:38

Birkies would be horribly painful as you use your toes to keep them on (at least I do when I wear mine). Break out the Crocs TALD, you know you want to.

ToysAreLikeDogs · 12/12/2008 08:37

No no no keep the birkies DB - you love them more

I am croc-clad this morning and it's farking raining [trench foot emoticon]

Ah well

You have all my sympathy - I dropped a large jar of chutney on the same toe about 18 months ago and it hurt like you could not believe. But was told like you that there was nothing that could actually be done. It's still a bit weird even now - more wobbly than the other toes, IYSWIM.

Dragonbrandybutter · 12/12/2008 16:52

i feel so sorry for you.
not the toe, the crocs.
have a big mumsnetty hug.
