Could this be a prolapse?

I've changed my name cos I have an embarrassing problem. For the past few days I've had a weird feeling "down below", like I have a tampon still inside or something. I've also had lower back pain (but I do suffer from a bad back quite often anyway). I'm feeling a bit shivery today aswell. From what little I know about it, I'm wondering if this could be some sort of prolapse? I thought this happened soon after giving birth though - my youngest child is now 5 and I've had no problems before. I'm 38, so not (quite) middle-aged yet! Any other ideas what it could be anyone?

Hmm, I have a third degree prolapse and non of the symptoms you describe are those I have experienced. The tampax still in thing is weird, a prolapse is out not in iykwim. Do you feel it when you sit down, like you are sitting on a marble? This is what mine felt like at first. By the way, I was 26 when I 1st had mine .

Well, I can definitely feel something, not just when I'm sitting down. Do you mind me asking what treatment you had/are having?

Not at all. You'll find plenty of threads from me on the subject (by suwoo). I have been seeing the gynaae now for 6.5 years. Mine is an anterior (front wall) prolapse and has been managed with the use of a ring pessary. Over the years and after my second pregnancy and (c section) delivery it has worsened, so now I have 2 ring pessarys in situ. I rsearched this treatment myself online and suggested it to my gynaecologist. I have recently been referred to another consultant due to the deterioration with a view to having a repair. HTH.

If you can bear to, explore- insert a clean finger and see if you can feel anything odd- such as your cervix low down, or a bulge on the font wall.

I had a repair years back when I was 35 after DC2.
