I've had one for four days now, left side. continuous twitching, my inner hyperchondriac wants to know if it means I've got a brain tumour

I get them when tired or stressed, i like them, nice feeling!

jollyholly · 04/12/2008 21:53

No, we call it twitchy eye-itis in our house. It's usually a sign of stress, or exhaustion (or both).

RustyBear · 04/12/2008 21:55

If they do then I've had a brain tumour for about thirty years...

Like smallships I get them when I'm tired.
Unlike her, I don't like the feeling much!

HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 21:55

Smallships, you're odd You LIKE them? It's really distracting me. I'm no more sleep deprived than normal, still getting about 7 hours a night.

I get quite sad when they go, i try to bring them on myself with squinting exercises.

Are you stressed?

ingles2 · 04/12/2008 21:56

I get them when I've been on the computer too much

HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 22:01

Not particularly smallships. well, no more than usual. this is the first time today that I've been on the computer, so I guess it must be sleep I need more of (who doesn't?) I normally have a nap with ds in the afternoons, but we've missed it the past couple of days as we've been busy, perhaps that's it. Glad I'm not in immediate risk of death.

Get thee to bed.

I will swap your twitchy eyelid for my sore throat?

DontCallMeSantaBaby · 04/12/2008 22:14

Something to do with sodium, or potassium, or somethingelse-ium. You probably need to eat a banana, or some chips. Or go to bed.

HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 22:18

How about I eat a packet of crisps AND a banana in bed??

I'll swap your sore throat any day smallships. Sore throats I can do, mmmm hot honey and lemon yummy! Twitchy eyes, can't do anything with. I'm going to bed after the 10 o'c news.. I promise... really....

DH who is epiletic tells me that they mean you have mild epilepsy (he is also currently awaiting treatment for severe hypochrondria )

Though he was right about the dogs twitchy eye damn him.

I get them mainly when I am tired/stressed. I love the feeling of twitchy eyes and muscles [strange person alert]

SmallShips · 04/12/2008 22:25

See!! I am not the only odd ball.

NotanOtter · 04/12/2008 22:27

i amintrigued by the 'liking it' might try to !

ClausImWorthIt · 04/12/2008 22:27

It's because you're tired/stressed. I once had this for 2 months! - in both eyes.

Try and take some time out to relax.

wrinklytum · 04/12/2008 22:29

I get them when stressed/tired,too.Tis a nightmare when it happens at work.Feel like a right numpty!

NotanOtter · 04/12/2008 22:31

wrinkly - i would not worry dp says he cant even see them - even when i feel huge ones

HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 22:31

I've got a day off tomorrow and ds is with his childminder all day so I'll take it easy and see if it goes. It's odd though, I feel like a spare part if I'm not working/looking after ds/doing housework..... I just get this " now what do I do?" feeling.

OP posts:
HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 22:32

wrinkly, I've been staring at myself in the mirror to try and see it and I can't so I guess they're invisible to muggles

OP posts:
wrinklytum · 04/12/2008 22:33

God I'd love a me day! I would lie in bed all day reading crappy fiction crime novels and eating chocolate

HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 22:34

See that's what I should be doing, but I was planning on going to Homebase and hiring a carpet cleaner as our living room carpet is shameful. We do have a tiny living room so I reckon I can do it in a couple of hours and still have plenty of time to sit in bed eating chocolate!

OP posts:
wrinklytum · 04/12/2008 22:36

GO for it

HeadFairy · 04/12/2008 22:41

Go for what? The carpet cleaning or the lying in bed all day eating chocolates? Call me Monica but I'm quite excited about the prospect of cleaning my carpets, they're filthy and the sense of satisfaction is going to be immense when they're clean. I was trying to explain to dh (who also thinks I should lie in bed all day tomorrow eating chocolates) that clean carpets will make me a happier person

OP posts:
ClausImWorthIt · 04/12/2008 22:42

No - find a company from the Yellow Pages that will come in and clean your carpets.

You can do that from your bed.

Seriously you need to slow down/relax and just unwind.

Why don't you book yourself a massage?
