Please tell me there's a magical cure. I think i have one on the sole of my foot, i've never had one before so need advice!

Do i bazooka it or whatever it is? do i need to hobble to the doctors? or my personal favourite, should i just try and ignore it, wait a bit and see if it goes on its own?

Are there any ways to treat them successfully naturally? not liking the idea of freezing it or whatever bazookering does... I'm not a happy bunny i've just got over having toothache and now it's hurting to walk aaaarrgghhhhhh Oh and is my foot highly contagious now should i quarantine it from the rest of the family? i feel like i have the dreaded lurgy

I heard on the radio that painting a little bit of nail varnish over it was just as effective as bazooka.

I think it depends how bad they are, my dh had one frozen off with liquid nitrogen recently. That was at the gp,

Yes it's quite contagious, so keep to your own towel etc to stop it spreading to the family...

I think most of the pain is from the buildup of hard skin - if you have a very sharp knife or blade, you can very carefully "shave off" the hard skin from the surface, keeping the blade very flat so you don't cut "into" yourself". Only sutable if you have something like a razor blade or scalpel blade around...

And you can get various kinds of cream to kill the virus, from the chemist. There's also now the freezing kind you can get to use at home, or the nurse can do it for you.

This works quite well in our house. Better than anything else I have tried.

I just started (last night) the banana cure and am hoping it'll work for me!

I've had 2 small verrucas for longer than I can remember and have tried the salicylic acid stuff from the chemists but that didn't work. AND it hurt.

Just do a Mumsnet search on verrucas and banana and you'll find loads of threads.

Oh i just read up a bit about banana's sounds promising! luckily my dd just ate one so know have some of the skin in my sock, must get some plasters to help it stay put though.... Df is going to think i'm nuts.

The scholl plasters look good if this doesn't work.

I am a big banana fan! Spent about 3 months bazooka-ing DS1's foot and it just left him with a big crater and a really sore foot. After several visits to GP she finally very embarassed-ly suggested the banana cure. Just put a small piece of the peel over the area, slimy side to the verrucca, put a plaster over the top to keep it in place, change it every day and hey presto! Ds's very deep verrucca went within 2 weeks and he was left with lovely soft skin too.
