If I lie down or sit still, I have it a bit - but if I stay still long enough, it just goes away. But getting up and walking around, or going from crouching to standing, really makes my head pound.

It's not an emergency or anything, but I'd like to know - is this blood pressure or something? I've had it for a few days, really, and it's starting to get to me.

I sometimes get this when I'm tired. Go see your GP if you're worried.

Sounds a bit like how my migraines feel. Migraines cause the blood vessels in your brain to constrict, so that the blood rushing through them causes pain. That's why NSAID's (anti-inflammatories like Nurofen or Ibuprofen) work well in this case.

Have you had one before? Mine sometimes last for a couple of days, but if you're more than that, then I'd book a GP appt early next week.

There is a menthol stick called 4Head which you can rub on your temples, this really helps. Vicks has a similar effect if you have any to hand.

for you. Headaches are really horrid aren't they.

I've had a migraine before, well, a migraine-ish headache. I thought they were more continual. (Oh, also, no auras, it's not one-sided.)

I am tired, I'm sure that's a factor.

Is your neck sore at all?

I have woken up with this this morning and my neck and shoulders are really sore..have had whiplash and it's prone to flaring up with the effects you are describing!!

{smile]

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 30/11/2008 08:31

or even

NotQuiteCockney · 30/11/2008 08:38

No, no whiplash, no sore neck. (My tongue is really really messed up, but I don't think that's related!)

Eating breakfast seems to have helped - the headache has been on and off since Wednesday, I think I'll just try to notice when it's not there (other than when I lie down) and figure out a pattern, I guess ...

No - probably worth doing. I tend towards low blood pressure, and am insanely active + healthy these days ...

Yeah, I've been drinking loads of water all week. I'll push it a bit more today and see if it makes a difference.
