gp thinks its fecking rickets (or a manifestation of) so she is referring me to a specialist, put me on vit d/calcium supplements and thinks that it may have contributed to my recurrent mc. didnt even think you could get ricketsin this day and age, but it is almost def related to my anorexia.

Bloody hell- but also Hurrah! if it gives you any answers

SuperBunny · 28/11/2008 16:00

OH, Lissie. I am glad they may be getting to the bottom of it and hope it is treatable.

FWIW, people get rickets here (the US) especially in northern states during the winter. Winter babies are at high risk. I always thought it was a disease from the middle-ages.

mrsmortenharket · 28/11/2008 16:01

am glad things are starting to get sorted for you now liss xxx

stealthsquiggle · 28/11/2008 16:03

I am sure someone on here said rickets based on the knobbliness, didn't they?

It's impressive, you have to admit and at least it's not plague [flippant grin]

Poor you.

OracleInaCoracle · 28/11/2008 16:27

thanks, stealth, yep, someone said rickets but ive always associated it with extrematies but apparently in severe cases it can affect the ribs.

im glad that things are getting moving, and if they find a reason for the mcs by accident then so much the better.

Bloody hell that is unusual nowadays. At least you are getting treatment and hopefully no more MCs.

sweetkitty · 28/11/2008 16:41

OracleInaCoracle · 29/11/2008 09:13
