Minerals/Vitamins to take post gall bladder removal

A while back (maybe a couple of months ago now) I read a thread on here about people cotinuing to experience pain after having their gall baldder removed. There have been a few threads about this subject recently but I know that on one of them someone posted saying that there was a certain vitamin/supplement which they always advised patients to take post operatively to address some sort of imbalance in the body which having the gall baldder creates. I got the feeling that the person who posted was a GP or some sort of clinician with specialist knowledge in the area.

I've been trawling back over these old threads for ages and can't find what I'm looking for so maybe someone else can remember.

here I saved the thread. I am having the op on the 9th Dec. Trying not to worry about it!

Do you know what? You ladies are fantastic!!
Thanks so much for that - and the speed of the response was very impressive.

I hope your op goes well Tortoise. Try ot to worry about it. have you watched the op o the internet yet? Maybe you do;t want to but if you feel strong enough here's a lin where you can see it. I've watched it and it doesn't seem too bad - all done by keyhole and quite straightforward.

I've been putting off having mine out for a while now. I've had pain with it off and on for years and finally got around to having it scanned last January and it's full of tiny stones. They looked like little pears on the scan - they printed me off a scan picture (just like they do when you're having a baby scan) and I took it home and put it in teh cardboard frame that they gave me with my baby scan. I showed it to my auntie and she threw here arms around me, congratulated me and asked me how far on I was!! Just goes to show that no one can make out a baby on those scans can they?!!

Anyway, I digress, my GP has said to me I can opt to have it removed or learn to manage the attacks. I opted to do the latter but I've just had another bad attack and am feeling like I really want to get it done asap now. The thing that put me off is still suffereing afterwards because a lot of people seem to and maybe this supplement could help.

I'm making an appointment with my GP to get a referral to a consultant and I'll be taking the details of this supplement along with me to seek advice.

Good luck with yours anyway. I'm sure you'll be fine and I'd love to hear how you get on with the supplement if you decide to take it.

Sorry, that should read my gall stones looked like little pearls on the scan, not pears . I think I'd know a bit more about it if they were the size of pears!!

Thanks for link. Will try and watch it tomorrow! Should be in bed now really!
I haven't had an attack for a few months but had a bad one one saturday and again in the sunday and the pain stayed most of the day. That is when i decided to get it sorted! Appointment was in Oct and booked in for op already. At least i should be ok for xmas food lol.
Will ask about the supplement when i go for my check up mon before the op the week after.

Hope you get sorted quickly too.
