I am obviously retaining fluid but why & how do I get rid of it? Period started 3 days ago so should be okay by now... Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Drink loads of water? Diuretuc from the chemist?

sansouci · 17/03/2005 13:40

Do chemists give diuretics?

I mean, ones that actually work without a prescription?

I thought so...

IIRC nettle tea is a very good diuretic. Tastes awful though, a bit like raspberry leaf tea with a hint of spinach. But you could always add loads of sugar or honey. It needs to be a good make - Dr Stuart's Botanicals is good, anything by Twinings is rubbish.

comfort yourself with the thought that at least you had them off! Better not to be able to get them on than off

CD

My thoughts exactly.

Thanks, PC. I'll have a look for it.

I'm not actually worried about the rings, CD, it's the swelling that bothers me. I don't really want to make an appointment with the GP for something that is probably inconsequential but I hate being so swollen & wonder what's going on.

best way, honestlty, i suffer too:
drink as much water as poss!
cabbage, celery, are natural diuretics
cut down on caffiene and salt
dandelion tea, green tea.
