Is it likely that clarithromycin would help with a urine infection?

I saw the GP last week & got clarithromycin for both chest & urine infections

Chest seems better - but urine is much worse - back to GP tonite

But does this mean it is serious or is it just the wrong A-B for my particular infection?

Just wrong ab's for the bacteria in your urine. Did you hand in a sample last time? Might be worth doing one so it can be tested for sensitivity.

Yep - gave sample - it was dipped but not sent off - apparently lots of bacteria (possibly lots of types??) were present

I would go back and tell your GP that you are still symptomatic. He/she will probably give you some differnt ones which are likely to work but to be sure you need a sample sent off, shouldn't take many days.

Thanks
I feel so rough I was worried - but that is a much better suggestion/solution
