Does anyone else get that?

It hurts so much I have been crawling on my rug howling.

yes! I had this last week, after several days of coughing. Felt like it was a muscle strain after all the coughing. I couldn't get up off the floor at one point, couldn't stretch out, is that the same?

twinsetandpearls · 19/11/2008 00:04

Have had no coughing.

Have felt ill for a few days, feeling sick and very tired. Had a very hard teaching day today where I was rambling nonsense as I felt so tired, nauseous and not with it.

It is a sharp stabbing pain that is coming and going.

oh dear, maybe mine was a bit different but it was in the same place. I really couldn't move around for a day. Is it kidney related perhaps?

twinsetandpearls · 19/11/2008 00:08

Was hoping not kidneys, the thought has occured to me.

I had a urine infection and thrush a few weeks ago, could it all be related?

when I was teaching I used to get a muscle spasm which left me in agony. It was my stress pain and it got to the point that as I was teaching a difficult class if things got bad my back would spasm. Not to say it wasn't real, when I went for treatment the muscles were really tight. You're not anywhere near Bournemouth at all are you? I am training in the Bowen Technique, I'd be happy to see if I can help with the pain at all if you think it might help. The other thing that crossed my mind was a kidney infection which I know can sometimes be felt in the lower back.

HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 19/11/2008 00:15

I'm off to bed, hope you feel better in the morn.

twinsetandpearls · 19/11/2008 00:20

I didn't have the pain while teaching, and I have not had classes that are stressful. My day was a nightmare because I am so tired I can;t function. I was contemplating my workload when the pain started though and the fact that again I have had to work until midnight ( and it is dp 40th birthday today) and I will have to be up at 5 to start again. So perhaps it was stress.

I am near Bournemouth actually.

How are you doing today now? I hope as the day has gone on you're feeling a bit better. There are some evil bugs around at the moment so maybe it's the start of something.

twinsetandpearls · 19/11/2008 12:31

I think it may be a virus, I am struggling to stay awake with a really bad head. Feel very washed out.

Feel very crap for not going into work. Have to be in tomorrow as I have double a level and they have exams next week.

I remember that awful feeling when I used to teach, not having time off as you knew your classes would suffer. But do look after yourself, it's easy to become really run down and then you might end up having to have more time off at a later date. so you teach secondary? I used to teach MFL in a school in Bournemouth. I think I picked the wrong subject really, was not awfully fun to teach. I had a career break to look after dd2 who is disabled and have ended up re-training in the Bowen Technique which I'm really enjoying. Look after yourself and I hope whatever it is, it passes quickly. If you do ever fancy a treatment let me know as i'm always looking for guinea pigs volunteers

twinsetandpearls · 19/11/2008 13:22

mfl is very hard to teach, I do RE.

OP posts:
HangingbaublesofBethlehem · 19/11/2008 13:35

I always wanted to do RE. I wanted to do that at uni but school told me if i did then the only job open to me would to be a teacher.. (how ironic) so they steered me into french at uni.

twinsetandpearls · 19/11/2008 13:40

I love teaching my subject, like MFL it has its challenges but I have taught other subjects and have never enjoyed anything else as much.
