Do Taco Shells have gluten in them?

Or maize flour, refried beans, guacamole or anything in a Mexican ( I know about tortillas and didn't have them)?

Have been avoiding gluten for about three weeks now to try to manage IBS-type symptoms, and it's made a heck of a difference. The last two nights though have been kept awake by awful stomach pain and wind (sorry if tmi) just like I used to get a lot of. I thought maize flour and the list of ingredients in Doritos chips were ok though, but perhaps I'm not clued up enough?

I don't want to be a whinger, and I know this won't kill me, but can anyone help me work out what I've eaten that set the pain off? Thanks

Thanks for that- I did make it at home, but it was cobbled together from a kit, so probably some processed nasties got through! I must check the doritos packet again, I missed that one then. Thanks for replying!

If you made it from a kit did you use a sachet of flavouring/spices. That could be the culprit.

Hmm, the packet says "suitable for coeliacs", so that shouldn't have set me off. I only had refried beans last night, not the night before (Mexican 2 nights running tho). Wonder if it's something else now. The kit brand was Discovery.

Brilliant, thanks for that! So glad I seem to be homing on on what my triggers are. I will let it settle down and try an oatcake after a few days just to see if it's wheat alone or gluten in general. You've been a big help, thanks x
