body after giving birth?

i gave birth to dd4 on thursday.

yesterday i started getting lower back ache. very much like i had in pregnancy. could she has pressed on asome nerves or soemthing on the way out? its not really really bad, but enough to make me wince.

also i had a prolaspe after dd2, but by tyhe time i had dd3, it had righted itself with some serious pelvic floor exercises to a point when it wasnt an issue anymore. well yesterday, things were bulging again, and a bit sore where rubbing on pads. do i give this a little while for muscles to go back, as dd4 was a big girl (9lb 2.5oz), or see GP sooner? again not a major problem, just a little uncomfortable. also not helped by pads as have allergy to the gels in pads. will switch soon to washable pads once loss slows down a bit more.

ask for a physio to check you over. you may have separated long abdominal muscles and this may be why you have low back ache.

if that's the case she can give you some light exercises to do until you are 4 weeks postpartum and refer you to a physio then so you can work on building back up your abs to avoid straining your back.

are you using maternity towels?

i am allergic to teh gel in ordinary towels, too.

kotex night towels are a good alternative, too.

you can start doing pelvic floor exercises asap. this may clear up problems down below - it's certainly helping my piles .

congratulations, btw!

Would echo what expat has said, I felt like I had been hit by a bus after DD3.

I had bad SPD with her and although it went after birth I was very stiff and sore basically as my pelvis was misaligned the whole pregnancy I had been holding myself incorrectly and was also so stiff from not moving much.

Felt like my fanjo had dropped to my knees too, pelvic floors helped.

Oh and loads of cream for the piles

Agree do not use towels like Always etc use the biggest fattest maternity towels you can find, MW said they protect the whole are whilst it heals.

I think it takes a good few weeks for things to get back to normal, everything down there is bruised and battered.

am using proper maternity pads. cannot use always at all. usually i am a mooncup person, so going back to pads is a bit harsh for my poor old bits.

i felt loads of pressure in my back when in labour, was very painful and sore. dd4 wasnt back to back, but i c0ould feel her pressing on my back more iykwim.

i saw some sort of pelvic floor exerciser. apparently it works on electric impulses, it just reminded me of those electric ab trainer things which shock your muscles lol.

i may invest in one of those pelvic floor toner things, but you can't use them till 12 weeks postpartum.

i'll be booking my referral for sterilisation at my 6 week check. i've decided to go for it after discovering that DH will have to travel across the water just to give a sample every time till he gets teh all clear.

what a PITA.

£65

I would like another DC IF someone else could do the pregnancy bit for me.

I can't use Always either, they give me a rash.

I always found a bath every day with some drops of lavender oil in it helped soothe my battered body, I used to take a book in too and relax for half an hour sans children

yeah, like that one, misdee. i saw one on amazon, too, with good reviews.

i want my groove back, but no more babies!
