Palpitations

I have been having occasional palpitations for a while, which seem to go away for days, sometimes weeks and then reappear with a vengeance. I am havign a particularly bad day with them today - on and off the whole day. Other times it is only first thing in the morning then subsides. The only pattern I am beginning to notice is that the last time I had them this bad was almost exactly a month ago when I had them for three days straight. No chest pain associated, just a racing heart which interferes however with everything I do. I can't concentrate on anything else beacause of this fast pounding or fluttering. Has anyone else had this? Has anyone had this assoicated with certain times in their menstrual cycle? I am 34 years old. Should I be concerned? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

have not read all posts but i had this (still do from time to time). Eventually went to the docs convinced that i was having some dreadful heart malfunction but he reassured me that it was asystoli arrythmia (spelling????!). Shortly after his diagnosis it went! It was defo due to stress/fatigue/anxiety. Now i jsut have insomnia instead

Im currently on beta blockers for mine. It was picked up when preggy with dd2 but put down to pregnancy.
I ended up in A&E 2 weeks ago, feeling very unwell, tingly fingers and lips. My heart was pounding away at 186 bpm
They managed to get it down to 145, but now down to 110. Waiting for more tests but they think its something to do with eletros misfiring. Im very tired on the beta blockers, and just hoping they can work it out asap. Please go to GP, its quite normal to have them now and then but too regular could need some exploring. HTH

Hi. Hope you dont mind me addding to this.

I am 27yrs old and get pulputations. They seen to be worse at bedtime and it seems to be after a couple glasses of wine or really salty food.

Why is this happening?

the cardiologist (sp?) told me that its fineto have them when your in bed resting as its more than likely just heart slowing as you rest and your more aware of it. HTH
