Has anyone had a prolapse?

I have been diagnosed with a prolapse but the gynaecologist won't operate until after I have finished my faily.
I'm 21 and have had just one child but it's really uncomfortable.
Anyone had the same thing?

My mum had a colpolsuspension after she had a bladder prolapse, but she had other huge problems too. She was 44. She has bad asthma which was contributing to the prolapse. It was a BIG op which left her bad for weeks. She has also just had a hysterectomy as her womb prolapsed shortly after. 21 seems very young, is it your bladder that prolapsed? How bad is the prolapse?

Sorry for short sentences etc.. one finger typing because of baby!!

I had a cervical prolapse following the instrumental delivery of DS. It is horrible and uncomfortable! However, I tend to think it's slightly less horrible than an operation, so am leaving it alone for now...

Have a look at the forum on www.wholewoman.com
Lots of people, lots of ages, who have the same thing. And advice on exercises to help.

I had bladder, womb and bowel prolapse - had it all fixed and was told that I would have to have C section if I wanted any more kids.

Fab surgeon - can give you his name if you want - he works at Blackheath privately and Woolwich on the NHS - he is the nicest most caring man ever who even saw one of my other friends for free at his private clinic because her undercarraige was in such a mess.

Hi there, Madamecastafiore,
I could do with a little advice. 2years ago I had an anterior repair and posterial repair of the vagina and a tvt tape for incontinence. things were ok for a while. Fortunately I don't have vaginal vault prolapse or uterus prolapse. But I have been told I have some rectal prolapse..Nice! which may need hitching up!.I feel my perineum is really struggling.
My question is why do they sometimes hitch up the organ ,where as in your case it sounds as if they hitched up all the pelvic floor....what was the name of that procedure and how did they do it was it with mesh.please could you give me the name of that sugeon.
before all this rubbish i was running, doing combat classes ,playing footie with the kids, maybe I over did it and there was a time bomb ticking.I want to get back to my old sporty self .
many thanks feeling a bit sad.

sal- I think you may have overdone it.

I had a repair almost 20 years ago and they did a bit of owork on a small rectocele, mainly anterior repair and hitched up my uterus- they shortened the ligaments. Surgeon drew me a nice pic of it all before they started!

I was told never to lift anything over 1 stone again. ( max.)

I started jogging about 8 years back and after 1 session felt a bit loose- trotted off to physios and gynae for checkup and was told no running/jogging etc. Physios say jogging etc is very bad for pelvic floor due to impact every time you land.

I think you maybe need to accept that for the sake of your PF you have to ease off the sports and find other types that don't exert so much pressure.
