Dd has a nasty rash - impetigo???

DD (aged 4) had a fall at school and grazed the whole of her right hip - very nasty. Anyway, school cleaned it up and she's had a sterile bandage thingy on it which we replaced a couple of times over the past couple of weeks. This morning, to my horror, the plaster came off and underneath it looked awful. Lots of small blisters with pus and some bits of dry skins and it looked like the whole area where the plaster had been was infected (almost in the shape of the plaster). OK, so I know I SHOULD take her to the docs - but having rung them - no appointment until next Tuesday..... but anyone got any ideas if I can treat this at home? I suspect antibiotics might be given to her which I hate - planning on visiting a very good local pharmacist later - but anyone any ideas what this might be? My neighbour said it might be impetigo and I just wonder if I can avoid a trip to the docs.
Thanks for any thoughts.

If it's the graze that's infected it needs anti-b's and TBH if it's impetigo school won't want her in until it's been looked at and she's started treatment.

I'm be bloody annoyed at not being able to get an appointment til Monday. That's pretty crap especially as she's a child. Our surgery has a policy of seeing children within 24 hours. Do you have an NHS Walk-In centre nearby?

My son had something which sounds like this also from a fall which then went septic under the plaster and to be honest it needs antibiotics asap. Ring the docs again and say its an emergency for asap. If the receptionist still blocks it take her down and insist on seeing. If they still won't act, taker her to A&E. My son ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics.
