Lovely topic this, but can anyone help? I am having worsening stress incontinence two years on from birth of DD (forceps delivery). I wee myself a little bit when running or coughing and it's getting worse . I haven't been all that good at doing my pelvic floor excercises . Is it too late now??! Has anyone else experienced this?

it's never too late.
go see your gp and get a referral to a continence clinic or obs & gynae physio.
and do your exercises!!!

Thanks dragonbutter. Think I'll try religiously doing my exercises and see if it works before braving the gp

Get a referral from your GP. After the birth of DD2 I only needed to go to a continence nurse who was able to help me re-train my bladder . But lately I had no control and at a gynae referal they decided I needed a TVT which I had a couple of months ago.

It's really not worth being shy about it lilysma. It's very common, and it would be worth getting some proper instruction on exactly how best to do pelvic floor exercises so you don't waste your time doing them wrongly.

just wondering how you are going, i realise this is an old thread, but am considering the tvt surgery and wondered cocoleBOO how you found the surgery and whether you would recommend it? hoping you see this msg as i am hearing so many mixed stories on the surgery and i really need it and don't have the option of not having it done, due to the severity of my SUI...
