DD has just thrown up in her sleep

Just heard a terrible noise coming from dd2's (3) room. Ran in and she is laying on her back being sick. I grabbed hold of her to sit her up but she kept trying to lay down whilst still being ill. It was everywhere. > Had no choice but to get her in the bath as her hair was in a terrible mess. Poor thing was half asleep the whole time. Got her out of the bath and she was freezing - teeth chattering like mad.
Have got her in bed with me at the moment, am afraid to put her back in her bed in case it happens again and I don't hear her.

poor dd2. Make sure you have plenty of towels handy

aww poor darling, I hope she gets over it really quickly. Kids normally bounce back from these things much quicker than us big bodys.

this happened with ds a few years ago - he just slept through it and had had quite a bit of choc in the day so brown gloop everywhere. It still scares me now in case he chokes so if he says he feels sick i let him sleep in a camp bed in my room

DOES she...

Fab - she's just thrown up again - all in my bed this time. Lots of washing for me tomorrow. She does feel a bit warm. She's been absolutely fine today I can't believe how suddenly this has come on.

She just wants to sleep through it all. It's flippin' hard work trying to hold her up, grab a sick bowl and move everything out of the way at the same time. I keep yelling out to dh each time and he comes hurtling up the stairs.

Oh horrid. It's happened to us too. (And it's happened that I've gone to get ds up in the morning and found him lying in a puddle of dried-up vomit.)

If a child is vomiting in her sleep while lying on her back, it can be easier to roll her onto her side than to get her to sit up. Or alternatively to roll her over completely onto her tummy and hold her under the shoulders with one arm (almost like a hug from behind) while supporting her forehead with the other hand. You can see I've been there before!

It's never been anything with mine, jsut the one chuck in the night, with maybe a slightly grizzly day the following day. Hopefully your dd will be fine, too.

I bathed her the first time. This time it was a quick wipe through the hair and over the face with a warm flannel. I daren't bath her again in case it happens all through the night.

Oh you poor things! I don't know what to suggest.

Well she's gone quite for a while now. Don't know whether or not to go to sleep myself yet.

Hope she's OK in the night Sparkler ... and that you can come out to play tomorrow! Night.

if she's sleeping with you then go to bed. You'll hear her. Keep towels by you and be careful not to make her too warm. Means a cold night for you. Hopefully it will pass tonight.

She's supposed to be at pre-school all day tomorrow. Shall just see how things go through the night as to whether or not I shall send her.

If children have thrown up they are not supposed to go to school, nursery etc for 24 hours in case it's contagious etc. Sorry

I know I thought about that.
