It hurt at first but then didn't so I didn't put anything on it. What's the best treatment or shall I just leave it alone now?

Do you mean it's a blister?

Overmydeadbody · 04/10/2008 19:06

Just leave it alone.

Maybe run some cold water over it, or put some aloe vera on it if you have any, but it's just a burn, it will heal quite quickly of its own accord.

TheBlonde · 04/10/2008 19:06

poor you
do you have any sudocrem?

themoon66 · 04/10/2008 19:06

cold compress. raised red wheals are normal for burns.

It's still worth the cold water- you can put in in a bowl of iced water. If you have any in an anti-inflammatory would help e.g. nurofen.

gigglewitch · 04/10/2008 19:30

try lots of cold water then pat dry, then Bicarbonate of soda - put a heap of it on some sort of dressing or tissue, put it on the burnt bit and keep it there overnight. Have absolutely no clue why but it works fantastically for skirmishes in kitchen/ironing.

spicemonster · 04/10/2008 20:19

I posted this just before I put my DS to bed and then forgot about it! No, not a blister. I do have some sudocrem (of course - vats of the stuff ) so I will do a cold compress and then try that. I'm quite tempted by the bicarb idea but I chucked mine out as it had gone hard. It's not a very easy place to immerse in water as it's half way up my arm on the inside so I'd have to stick my whole arm in a bucket

Lavener oil. It is magic. I use it on all burns, rashes, stings and bites. It takes the pain out instantly and is natural.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 04/10/2008 20:28

Seond vote for lavender, is like a miracle cure for burns.

combustiblelemon · 04/10/2008 20:29

I don't know why but I read hand.

CherryChapstick · 04/10/2008 20:32

...and you get to smell like an old lady. Seriously, go dab the lavender oil on it.

PinkPurple · 04/10/2008 20:34

pure aloe vera gel, or neat lavender oil...both work a treat for burns.

spicemonster · 04/10/2008 20:35

I don't think I have any I was so paranoid about things when I was pg that I dumped all my oils. Arnica?

pointydog · 04/10/2008 20:35

you have a special pan just for fishfingers?

spicemonster · 04/10/2008 20:36

OOh I do have aloe vera though!

OP posts:
CherryChapstick · 04/10/2008 20:36

That is for bruising.

spicemonster · 04/10/2008 20:37

I wish pointy! I couldn't think what to call it. I was worried that if I said baking tray someone might think I was being all Nigella. I did make my own oven chips though!

OP posts:
fishie · 04/10/2008 20:41

yy lots of aloe. i did this a few months ago and it was a real pest because i couldn't pick anything big (inc ds) up without rubbing it until it healed. inner arm does scar too. i had ice on mine for four hours.

pointydog · 04/10/2008 20:41

OP posts:
pointydog · 04/10/2008 21:05

Sidge · 04/10/2008 21:07

Leave it alone.

When it is dry put some vitamin E cream on it, it aids healing.

spicemonster · 04/10/2008 21:31

The aloe is good but I shall strap some fish fingers on in the morning pointy

PinkPurple · 04/10/2008 22:35

put your aloe gel in the fridge...lovely and cooling on a burn
and apply TONS of it each time...several times tonight and tomorrow.
