My Step-Mother had an operation on her sinuses last week. She (of course) has sounded terrible but hass suffered such sever bleeding she was re-admitted over a week later.

She can't sleep lying down and manages little even if sitting up.

She sounds so awful I really feel for her so I wondered if anyone had had a sinus op and could offer any advice?

She was discharged yesterday following a big bleed but has started bleeding a lot again today.

Does anyone have a natural remedy for clotting?

Any advice at all-she sounds so miserable and I so want to help her.

Had mine done 13 years ago by Elgin Davies at Macc. Absolutely brilliant.....until 2 years later when I had a pregnancy that didn't 'take' and I had another attack - then 11 months later when dd was born had both sinusitis and mastitis in the first 2 weeks. However, I have been largely free since then. I remember waking up after the op with a crashing headache - missing being given morphine - and being given 2 coproxomol. After another 2 in the middle of the night, I woke at 6am without a twinge. The surgeon mentioned 'splints' before the op, which I had assumed were something the size of the pin used to hold a hair curler in place from his description. I got a shock when he took the first one out - it was about 4inches of silicon syphon tubing - and then I braced myself for the other one being pulled out - not painful, just weird.

For anyone about to have the op, I didn't have any bleeding after, and hope it goes well.

LOl, I read that as Brain Fish, was confused for a moment! It would have been too much of a co-incidence to have the same consultant I suppose.

Hope she gets sorted out soon.

think they are doing quite a good job at babysitting her over the weekend and I guess they won't actually "do" anything till Monday.

Sounds like she is being taken care of now. I wish her all the best.
