I've had a lump - there - since before I ever got pregnant, sometimes it's painful, sometimes not. Sometimes there's a little blood on the loo roll, sometimes not.

It's been about 5 years I guess, sometimes I use cream but it doesn't make any difference.

Last time I went to the loo for a number two there was lots of blood in the pan and on the paper which has never happened before.

Should I go to the doctor about this? Is there anything I can do?

blood loss should always be checked out

he may be able to recommend a course of action which will stop the problem

5 years is a long time to deal with this

I had a quick read of treatment and there don't seem to be many very good options.

Does anyone have any experience?

Go to the doctor before you decide you don't like the treatment. 1. It may be something else and 2. the treatment may be different anyway!

I'm repeating myself today but mine turned out to be cancer - get thee to a GP sharpish.

Happened to me, had emma freuds for years, never bled until a few years back and saw GP. Got referred to a specialist at the hospital who just went through family medical history, pressed my stomach, and injected the thing because I was going to have more children and it would only come back. It's frightening, better to just find out I think. He said I should have a colonoscopy in my mid-30s as I have a family history of polyps (lovely word...) and a grandfather had bowel cancer. When I can be bothered I'm going to try and get it removed, sooo bored of cringing whenever anyone makes a piles joke. They are very literally a pain in the arse.
