Anyone else have <<aherm>> a shorter fanjo after having children?

I'm hoping this is common, I am not a freak and my fanjo isn't broken...

Since having dd1 I haven't been able to use tampons, always felt like they were too low down, whereas previously I'd used them with no problems.

And this is where it gets embarassing, since having the DTs, sex is different. Now I'm pretty sure, despite what DH says, he has not grown and extra inch or two but when we're having sex now, in most positions he feels too big and sometimes it's nothing less than a cervical bruising even though he tries to be gentle.

So, can a fanjo shrink???

agree, possibly a prolapse, see your GP. Sometimes if it's not severe it can be improved with specialist physio therapy.

TMI but try sticking your fingers up and push, and see if it feels different after. I was able to push mine up.

OMG, I have this exact same problem and I thought it was normal. I have not been able to use tampons since having DD 10 months ago. I use a mooncup now but I still dare not go swimming with it.

What is a prolapse?

When your womb falls into your vagina. I've just had my bladder prolapse fixed a couple of weeks ago.

Is something like this always a prolapse? I mean can it be something else? Do I need to go to the GP?

I would go to your GP, it can be sorted with physio and pelvic floor exercises if it's not to bad. They used to put a ring up to hold it in place, but I may be showing my age.

I will make an appt tomorrow. DH and I are TTC our second DC would this cause a problem?

I think it would, if your pelvic floor is weak it's harder to carry a baby. Do you suffer from any incontinence? If not it's propbly not too bad.**disclaimer I'm not a DR!

Aww thanks coco, I did suffer from a bit of incontinence after having DD, but I do my pelvic floor exercises religiously and it is loads better (Only when I sneeze and actually need to go sorry if TMI)

Would it stop me from actually conciveing? Could this be why TTC isn't working and I fell immediately with DD.

I've just read your post lulu and thought it was a possible prolapse. Dusty if you have stress incontinence I would go to your GP, that's what my op was for. I'm not sure it it would stop you conceiving or not.

Should I be able to feel something, like, poking through my cervix? Is that what it feels like?

It all depends on the severity of it, you can get back ache, pain around belly button, a 'dragging' feeling. GO to your Drs, it won't be as bad as you're imaging, but if you dont go it will only get worse. My pelvic floor op was 2 weeks ago and I'm still going to be off work for another 6 weeks, don't let it get too bad.

I too have this problem Bibi, tampax just fall out of me nowadays. When I had a smear I mentioned it to the GP, she said my cervix has tilted after having/giving birth to two children but it wasn't a prolapse.

I can keep a tampon in, it just feels like it isn't in properly. Mooncup not a problem, but they're meant to sit quite low anyway aren't they?

What will she want to do to me? Will the be poking and prodding in the fanjola area?

Bibi - well done! Yes there may be an examination of your fanjola area, doctors have seen it all before so don't be embarrassed at all!

Okay, have been thoroughly examined in the fanjola area ... and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong. The Dr took some swabs anyway in case something bacterial shows up, but have a normal, healthy looking fanjo.

I've never seen a man so pleased, we have actually had strutting
