Do moles just appear by themselves? Is this normal?

why what is it?

avenanap · 13/09/2008 21:41

It's just a mole. Wasn't there yesterday. Just a flat brown spot. Very odd.

Yes, and yes.

cornsilk · 13/09/2008 21:42

what shade of brown? Do you think it could be a spot?

SoupDragon · 13/09/2008 21:42

If you are at all concerned about it, see your GP.

avenanap · 13/09/2008 21:44

Not a spot, it's flat and brown. I've never had one that's just appeared overnight. I didn't know they could do that. It's not a spot, it's completely flat and painless.

I don't want to see my GP . I've definetly never had sunburn where this mole is.

avenanap · 13/09/2008 21:47

Defiently not a wart. ds has had a wart, looks nothing like it, it's titchy and flat, as in can't feel any difference between it and skin.

Ahh. I'll go on Monday.

Thankyou. I always take care in the sun and have never let myself get burnt (only slightly on my shoulders twice). I have a mole on the inside of my leg (at the top!) they were going to remove ages ago but they never sent me an appointment. I do check them, I never knew one can just appear though.

You must have been petrified. Are you OK now?

. I'll need a bikini wax first . Tis a forest down there! I've got to go anyway. I need to make an appointment at the hospital to see the pelvic floor nurse so I shall kill 2 birds with one stone and get all the nasties sorted out together.

I'm so pleased you are alright.

Could just be a blood spot though, it's hard to tell.

OG I've done it again. I misread op as meaning the velvety little creatures underground. Was intrigued as I can't seem to get rid of mine which are quickly becoming a whole town of moles on my lawn.
Sorry not to be even remotely helpful !

PMSL! Did the health title not give it away?

Hello Avena

I found out something interesting about moles recently. They come and go over your life, but the process is incredibly slow say over fifty years, and new moles are generally more common before about 40.

avenanap · 13/09/2008 22:24

Thanks . Do you want a dog for your facebook profile as a reward?

How are you?

OP posts:
S1ur · 13/09/2008 22:32

Ooh a dog eh? hmm would I have to actually do something with it? Or can I just point and laugh?

I am fab

Dead smug and happy.

I think that with regards to moles, it is reaaly quite rare that there is a problem with moles. Particularly nonbleeding non itching kinds.
