My dd1 has woken this morning with a temperature of 38.1, she is streaming full of cold and hot to touch but otherwise well in herself, would you send her to nursery or not.

I never know what to do for the best in these situations.

There seams to be a bug going round (in my area anyway) that results in high temperatures - ds got to 39.3 on Thursday. Personally I wouln't send her in.. I know what a hassel it is to take the time off work, but likelihood is she'll be miserable all day and you may get a call from the nursery to take her home anyway. If in doubt call the nursery to discuss whether they'll take her - they have the other childrens health to consider aswell.

I agree with Janeway and wouldnt send her in. Temperatures are usually lower first thing so it may well rise later on in the morning. Besides a temperature is a good indication that dd is fighting off some bug or another, she'll probably be contagious, and not in the best state to deal with lots of frenetic activity of other children. Best to keep her quiet until she's well again.
