Ds has had it for 2 days now-the nappies have been awful and we've been changing them every 30 mins or so.Saw the emergency doctor tonight and he's been given Dioralyte and been told to give him no food or milk for a few days.I'm hoping it's going to clear up soon-it's been really horrible and ds started vomiting today also, which wasn't nice. The doctor said there's so much of it going around at the mo,and hopefully he should start to get better in a couple of days.

I would not worry about food for a while if he's not fussed. plently of fluids, milk and water. If you have dioralyte for babies you could offer him some half strength, or just plain cool boiled water. There are a lot of viruses going roung like this just now, the most important thing you can do for him is keep him hydrated.

If you are having trouble keeping his temp down you can give him neurofen, though I would try to do this at the same time as a feed as it will be kinder to his stomach. (although tummy upsets from nurofen are unlikely in children)

Just keep offering him his milk and offer fluids often. Make sure he is having plenty wet nappie (from urine Grin). And if your worried see your gp tommorow or phone NHS 24 tonight.

Although bubaloos advice is good I would not recommend cutting out milk untill your wee bub has been seen by a dr.

You must be sure that he will be adequtely hydrated and have his electolytes replaced in other ways before attempting this.

hope this helps you joje

Thankyou everyone and I will check his nappie and temp. Good thinking about the neurofen thanx Chapsmum Smilex
