Fecking heavy periods

Ever since my periods started again (started properly when DS was 8 months - 5 months ago) they've been horrible, heavy, and sore. They were always no big thing previously. It's not impossible to cope with but we're at a super tampax plus a super nighttime towel every couple of hours which sucks.

Any idea why this could be, and what I can do about it? I had a section, is that relevant? Really don't fancy a coil ...

it just happens after having dc for some people, me too.

Go to the drs and get some tranexamic acid it helps most women, also make sure you're not anaemic already.

Have you been checked out for thyroid function and had an ultrasound. Fibroids can give you very eavy periods.

Taking the pill will typically make them lighter.

Urgh, I don't fancy the pill either. It's a really effective contraceptive for me - when my libido has totally disappeared we never have sex and therefore pregnancy risk is minimal

I hadn't thought of going to the doctor [really dim]. I suppose that might be a start!

They will also check for hypothyroidism, as this can be a factor.
I know this from experience.

I would go and get basic blood tests. make sure you're not getting anaemic/iron deficient; thyroid function and probably arrange an ultrasound.
Different types of pill available. I don't take it cos doesn't agree with me so understand you for not liking it.
